    HIRBAWI KUFFIYEH

    HIRBAWI KUFFIYEH

The Hirbawi factory and its artisans have woven the authentic Kufiya since 1961.

The Keffiyeh (pronounced “Kufiya” in Palestine) holds profound symbolic significance, representing resistance, struggle, and the quest for freedom for the Palestinian people. The Hirbawi Keffiyeh is handmade using a traditional cross-stitching technique passed down through generations. It is woven with two layers: the "base" and the "pattern" or "flower" (وردَة) in Arabic.

Notably, the Hirbawi factory is the only remaining factory in Palestine that still produces authentic, high-quality Keffiyehs. This factory has preserved the traditional craftsmanship and techniques that make each Keffiyeh a symbol of cultural pride and resistance.

Today, the Keffiyeh comes in a wide range of colors and patterns, evolving alongside Palestinian culture. A variety of designs are now available, inspired by historic landmarks, cultural motifs, and, of course, the classic Keffiyeh patterns that are known and loved around the world.

At Ilhaam, we have managed to source a select few of these original, handmade Hirbawi Keffiyehs, bringing a piece of Palestinian heritage directly to you.
